Bahasa Therapy

Bahasa means 'language' in Indonesian. I see the process of being in therapy is like learning a new language. The more we practice, the more fluent we become. Once we've become fluent in the language, we then seek out people who can speak the same language. I see mental health and relationship from a similar lens. Once we are able to practice self-attunement and care for ourselves, we seek out people who are able to respect and care for us in the way that we respect and care for ourselves.

In Therapy

Jeannette is an EMDRIA-certified licensed marriage and family therapist, currently based in Northern California. In therapy sessions, she primarily utilizes Attachment-Focused EMDR and talk therapy, Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), and various interventions from Narrative Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Throughout her professional career, she has worked in a residential setting, community mental health agency, and outpatient clinics. Jeannette has been working with individuals, couples, and families who struggle with anxiety, trauma-related disorders, Borderline Personality Disorder, and eating disorders. She is passionate in working with the Asian, Asian-American (and other POC), and LGBTQ+ communities.

Outside of Therapy

When she is not working, she loves spending time with her cat, either playing, relaxing, or watching Youtube videos for cats. She also enjoys cooking, eating, watching TV, spending time with her loved ones, and playing video games.
